  • PENNSYLVANIA STATE MARCH FOR LIFE 2023

    • ​​The VOICE of JOHN in conjunction with Pennsylvanians for Human Life is sponsoring a bus for the 3rd annual PA State March for Life on Monday October 16th in Harrisburg.  Our bus will leave from Saint John Bosco's upper parking lot on Monday October 16th at 8:30 a.m.; Father Rick Polmounter will have an 8 a.m. Mass prior to our departure for the March.  We are scheduled to arrive at the Capital at about 10 a.m. to join in a Praise and Worship Service.  At 11 a.m. there will be speakers followed by a march around the capital at noon.  The march is a 1-mile, easy route, and concludes at 1 PM with women from the "Silent no More Campaign" giving their testimony as they speak of the wounds of their abortion, the painful memories of their decision.  

    • Maryann Lawhon, The VOICE of JOHN CEO stated that she has contacted our state legislators to meet with the group who will lobby for the children in PA whose lives are lost every year through abortion, we will lobby for the inhumane despicable practices in our state regarding experimentation on the remains of aborted children at the University of Pittsburgh and importantly, we will lobby for "Real Alternatives", asking our legislators to stand opposed to Governor Shapiro's proposal to end funding for organizations offering viable alternatives to abortion.  

    • This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to see our magnificent state capital, to learn the practice of lobbying legislators, and above all, to become involved in the greatest civil rights effort of our time.  

    • Speakers for this event include David Bereit, founder of 40 Days for Life, whose ministry involves prayer vigils outside of abortion clinics; Dr Kendra Kolb, a PA neonatologist who is a member of the Perinatal Palliative Care Committee providing compassionate medical care for babies with life-limiting diagnoses.  Also speaking will be Dr. Don Immel, superintendent of the PennDel Ministry Network with the Assemblies of God.  

    • There are many places to eat in and around the capital.  The bus will be returning to St John Bosco by 4:30 P.M.

    • Cost is $40 for adults and $25 for students.
